AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , PROVIDING FOR
THE IMPROVEMENT OF FOREST DRIVE, FROM FOREST HILL AVENUE
WESTERLY APPROXIMATELY 550 FEET INCLUDING CUL-DE-SAC BY CURBING
AND GUTTERING WITH PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council passed and approved on April 6,
1983 its resolution finding and declaring the necessity of improving
Forest Drive, from Forest Hill Avenue westerly approximately 550 feet
including cul-de-sac in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by curbing
and guttering with Portland cement concrete. That resolution has been
duly published according to law for seven (7) consecutive insertions,
in the Post Tribune, a daily newspaper printed and published in the
City of Jefferson, Missouri. No protest against the contemplated
improvement has been filed with the City Clerk by a majority of the
resident owners of property along said sections of the roadway liable
for the costs of the improvement, and who own a majority of the front
feet along the portion of the roadway to be improved.
Section 2. The portion of roadway described in Section 1 shall
Amok be built in accordance with the plans and specifications submitted by
IF the Director of Public Works and filed in the Office of City Clerk.
The cost of the work shall be charged and levied as a special
assessment against the real estate abutting and fronting on the
improvement, and special tax bills shall be issued therefore, as
provided in Chapter 33 of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
and the revised statutes of the State of Missouri. This assessment
shall not exceed $3.75 per front foot for curb and gutter and $9.00
per square yard for driveway approach.
Section 3. The Director of Public Works is hereby instructed and
authorized to advertise for bids for this improvement.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
