in accordance with the Charter or said City in regard to said work.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from

ORDINANCE NO. 7000
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (1) OF PARAGRAPH
(A) THEREOF, RELATING To 40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED ZONES, AND BY
ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SUBSECTION (1) OF PARAGRAPH (A)
ESTABLISHING 40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED ZONES WITHIN THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOUII,,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of i
Jefferson, M,ssouri, 1956, establishing the speed limits for motor
'vehicles within said city is hereby amended by the repeal of
Subsection 1 of Paragraph (A) of Section 1 of the Revised Ordinancef
of the City of Jefferson, Missouri is, and the same is hereby
repealed.
SECTION 2. There is hereby enacted a new ordinance to be known as
iSubparagraph (1) of Section (A) of Section 1 of the Revised
!Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, establishing
forty (40) miles per hour speed limits for motor vehicles on certain
named streets, roadways, boulevards and highways. Said new sub-
paragraph (1) of Section (A) of Section 1 of the Revised Ordinances I
shall read in words and figures as follows:
"Section 1.
Speed limit, It shall be unlawful
for the operator of a motor vehicle to operate the same
on the streets, alleys, highways or roadways of this
city at a rate of speed in excess of that hereafter
specifically designated:

streets, alleys, highways and roadways of this
