'oath2. All special deputy city clerks s take the same
!loath of office prescribed by ordinance for the City Clerk. Such
:,Oath shall be administered by the Police Judge of the City of
,,Jefferson, Missouri.
SECTION 3. All special deputy city clerks shall serve without any
salary or compensation. Their term of office shall begin as soon
( as they have had their oath of office administered and their term
of office shall expire at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 1961.
SECTION 4. The special deputy city clerks shall perform the
ifollowing duties:
(a) To receive applications for absentee ballots
to be voted in the general municipal election
in the City of Jefferson, Missouri on April 4,,
1961.
(b) To deliver said applications to the City Clerk
of the City of Jefferson, Missouri so that the
names of the applicants may be posted as is
prescribed by law.
(c) To receive the official absentee ballots and
envelopes and all instructions required by law
from the City Clerk and to deliver the same in
person to the applicant therefor for execution
by the applicant in the manner provided by law.
(d) Upon proper execution of the absentee ballot
as required by law, to render such assistance
asmay be requested by the absentee voter in
mailing said absentee ballot to the City Clerk.
SECTION 6. The Chairmen of the Democratic City Committee and of
the Republican City Committee shall each select not more than three
persons suitable to serve as deputy special city clerks .for the
purposes provided in the preceding section of this ordinance. They
shall furnish a list of the names of said persons to be selected to
the City Clerk of said City by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22,
1 1961.
! SECTION 7. Any person selected to be a special deputy city clerk
shall be a resident of the City of Jefferson, Missouri and entitled
to vote at the April 4, 1961 general city election.
SECTION 8 . This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval.
