HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD07082 ORDINANCE NO. 7082 - - JAN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 6987 REGULATING JUNK DEALERS, UNK YARDS, AUTO WRECKING DEALERS AND AUTO WRECKING SHOPS BY EPEALING SECTION 2 THEREOF, DEFINING JUNK DEALER, JUNK YARD, AUTO 4RECKING DEALER AND AUTO WRECKING SHOP, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 0 BE KNOWN AS SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 69879 REDEFINING SAID TE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSO , S FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 6987 be, and the same is hereby, repealed. SECTION @. Ordinance No. 6987 is hereby amended by the enactment of a new section to be known as Section 2 thereof which shall read in words and figures as follows: "ORDINANCE NO. 6987" Section 2. Definitions. As used hereafter in this Ordinance, the following terms shall have the following meanings: A. Junk dealer - Any person, firm or corporation operating or maintaining a junk yard in this City, or any person, firm or corporation buying, welling, trading or soliciting the purchase, sale or trade of used iron, steel, lead, copper, tin or other . similar metals in any form whatsoever within the corporate limits of this City. B. Junk yard - Any place of business where used iron, steel, lead, copper, tin or any other similar metals, in any form whatsoever, wire, rags, paper, cardboard, rubber, glass and other articles . of similar nature, shall be gathered together and stored for the purpose of resale to persons, firms or corporations engaged in the business of buying such commodities. C. Auto wrecking dealer - Any person, firm or corporation, keeping or maintaining an auto wrecking shop within the corporate limits of the city. D. Auto wrecking shop - Any place of business where motor vehicles are acquired and stored for the purpose of dismantling or stripping same to (1) sell or expose to sale to -the public any parts or portion thereof, or (2) use any part or portion of said dismantled motor vehicle in conjunction with the operation of an automobile repair shop or garage in the repair of other automobiles."
