ORDINANCE NO. 60 -26
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA,
REMOVING PARKING METERS FROM TEMPLE
CITY STREETS, CURBS AND SIDEWALKS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Prior to the incorporation of the City of Temple
City, California, on May 25, 1960, parking meters were in operation
in certain areas of Temple City by virtue of action by the Board of
Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, instructing the Road
Commissioner of the County of Los Angeles to install said parking
meters.
SECTION 2. Since the incorporation of the City of Temple
City, California, the said parking meters have been under the juris-
diction and subject to the control of the City of Temple City, pur-
suant to section 3301 of the Municipal Code.
SECTION 3. That on August 25, 1960, the City Council of
the City of Temple City adopted Resolution No. 60 -73 wherein and
whereby the subject parking meters were removed from all locations
within the City of Temple City commencing as of October 1, 1960, to
remain removed until January 3, 1961.
SECTION 4. The City Council of the City of Temple City
hereby determines and finds that it is to the best interest of the
City of Temple City that parking meters be removed from all city
streets, curbs and sidewalks of the City of Temple City.
SECTION 5. The City Manager is hereby instructed to forth-
with remove all parking meters from the streets, curbs, and sidewalks.
SECTION 6. This ordinance is deemed to be for the immedi-
ate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the City of Temple
City, and shall take effect immediately and the same shall be pub-
lished or posted in the manner required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Temple
City at a regular meeting thereof held this 27th day of December,
1960, by the following called vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Buchan, Dickason, Merritt & Fitzjohn
NOES: Councilmen- Tyrell
ABSENT: Councilmen -None

appointed Deputy City Clerk of the City of Temple City, California,
and that the foregoing Ordinance No. 60 -26 was duly adopted as an
Urgency Ordinance at a regular meeting of the City Council held on
December 27, 1960, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Buchan, Dickason, Merritt, Fitzjohn
NOES: Councilman- Tyrell
