GOLF COURSE COMMITTEE MINUTES
JANUARY 9, 1987
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Medley at 8:15 A.M.
Members peresent were Don Medley, Bill Mockwitz, Pat }-lardy and Bob East,
along with City representatives Bud Schmidt, Brian Mickels, John Drips and
Mr. Drip's Attorney, Bill Killen.
The first order of business was the review of the Golf Course Professional's
contract negotiations. Bud Schmidt reviewed changes in the contract specified
by the City Council. Committee members centered their discussion and concern
on a provision regarding reimbursements to the contractor for city -authorized
closures. The Committee instructed Bud Schmidt, along with John Drip's
representative, to rewrite the provision in question, to reflect reimbursement
to the Contractor, for open golf play season closures due to catastrophic
occurences.
The second order of business was the review of changes made by the City
Council in the Golf Course Advisory Committee Mission Statement. The "Terms
of Office" section was reviewed by the Committee and was deemed to be acceptable.
Concern, however, arose regarding the stipulation that Committee -at -large
members be residents of the City of McCall. It was noted that 4 of the 5
current members are not residents of the City, and that the provision to be
a City resident may not be appropriate.
The third order of business involved the selection of a Golf Course Club-
house Architect. Bud Schmidt asked for further input regarding the choice
of three architects to interview. The Committee's three top choices were
MDPI (McCall Design and Planning, Inc. - Andy Laidlaw), Frank Volk, Architects,
and Diffendaffer Architects. Bud Schmidt was directed to contact these firms
and arrange an interview date and time, in which the Committee and Staff
could interview these firms and choose an architect based on these interviews.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:20 A.M.
