HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD07159 1 ORDINANCE NO. 7159 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 62 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, 1956, REGULATING PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES WITHIN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 62 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, regulating parking of motor vehicles within the City of Jefferson, Missouri be, and the same is hereby repealed. Section 2. It shall be unlawful for the operator of a motor vehicle to permit the same to be parked on the north side of Commercial Avenue between its intersections with Jefferson Street and Adams Street, subject to the exception provided within the next section of this ordinance. Section 3. Motor vehicles may be parked for a period of time not to exceed thirty (30) minutes on the north side of Commercial Avenue between two points and within an area lying 180 feet west of the west curbline of Adams Street and 234 feet west of the west curbline of Adams Street. Section 4. It shall be unlawful for the operator of a motor vehicle to be parked on the south side of Commercial Avenue between its intersection with Jefferson Street and Adams Street , provided that this section shallnot apply to law enforcement officials who are taking or receiving prisoners at the Cole County Jail, and providing further that service cars, delivery cars, and vehicles delivering goods, wares and merchandise may park on the south side of Commercial Avenue for a period not to exceed one (1) hour. Section 5. Anyone violating any of the terms of this ordinance, or any section thereof, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. Section 6.
