AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES
WITHIN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AND PROVIDING A
PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI$ AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for the operator of
a motor vehicle, being operated in an easterly direction
on the Rex M. Whitton Expressway (Highways 50 & 63) , to
operate the same at a rate of speed in excess of 55 miles
per hour between the east line of Monroe Street and the
eastern corporate city limits line of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for the operator of
a motor vehicle, being operated in a westerly direction
on the Rex M. Whitton Expressway (Highways 50 & 63) , to
operate the same at a rate of speed in excess of 55 miles
Per hour between the easterly corporate city limits line
of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and the westerly line
of Lafayette Street.
Section 3. It shall be unlawful for the operator of
• a motor vehicle, being operated in a westerly direction
on the Rex M. Whitton Expressway (Highways 50 & 63) to
operate the same at a speed in excess of 45 miles per hour
between the westerly line of Lafayette Street and a point
located 150 feet west of the west line of Jackson Street.
Section 4. Anyone violating any of the terms of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
