ORDINANCE NO. 7168
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , VACATING
AND DISCONTINUING AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE SPECIFICALLY
DESCRIBED PUBLIC STREET RIGHT OF WAY AND DIRECTING THE
MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE ALL
NECESSARY INSTRUMENTS TO THE OWNER OF OWNERS OF THE
ADJACENT PROPERTY TO CONFIRM THE STATUTORY RIGHT OF
REVERSION IN SAID OWNER OR OWNERS TO THE LAND WITHIN
THE PUBLIC STREET RIGHT OF WAY HEREBY VACATED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It is hereby declared that the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, deems it expedient and necessary
to vacate and discontinue as a public thoroughfare the
public street rights of way hereinafter specifically
described as follows:
All that part of Vetter's Lane lying between
the southerly right of way line of the Rex
M. Whitton Expressway (U.S. Highway 50 & 63)
and an extension of the northerly right of way
line of Atchison Street to the easterly line of
Outlot No. 68 in the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
as said extension of Atchison Street appears per
plat of Hedgewood Heights Subdivision of record
in Plat Book 4 at Page 72, Cole County Recorder' s
Office.
All of Patton Lane as appears per plat of Hedgewood
Heights Subdivision of record in Plat Book 4 at
Page 72, Cole County Recorderts Office.
Section 2. The owners of all property adjacent to the
above described public thoroughfare right of way having
petitioned to the City to vacate and discontinue said
street right of way for public street purposes, and the
City Council believeing that the grant of said petition
is in the best interests of said city, it is hereby
declared that -the above described public street rights
of way is forever vacated and discontinued as a right of
way for public streets.
Section 3. The right of reversion to the owners of
land abutting said public street rights of way is hereby
confirmed as provided by the statutory laws of Missouri,
and the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, are hereby authorized and directed in the name
of said cityto execute all necessary documents or instruments
to completely vonfirm in sand abutting property owners
their rights of reversion in the land within the public
street right of ways hereinabove vacated.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval .
