AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCES 7062, 7186 AND 7193 OF THE CITY
OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI PERTAINING TO THE SALARIES AND COMPENSATION
OF ALL ELECTIVE AND APPOINTIVE OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY
AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinances numbered 7062, 7186 and 7193 of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, relating to the salaries and total
compensation of all elective and appointive officials and employee

of the city be, and the same are hereby, repealed.
Section 2. Compensation of Elective Officials. Hereafter the
following elective officials of the City of Jefferson City,
Missouri, shall receive the following compensation for the
performance of their duties, and as specifically mentioned herein,
the following amounts as expense accounts to defray expenses
incurred by them in the performance of their official duties:
(a) The Mayor shall receive the sum of $200.00 per month
as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive $75.00 per .
month as an expense account.
(b) The City Marshall shall receive the sum of $450.00 per
month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive $70.00
per month as an expense account.
(c) The City Attorney shall receive the sum of $360.00 per
month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive $100.00
per month as an expense account.
(d) The Police Judge shall receive the sum of $280.00 per
month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive $20 .00
per month as an expense account.
(e) The City Treasurer shall receive the sum of $100.00 per
month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive the sum
of $25.00 per month as an expense account.
(f) The City Assessor shall receive the sum as salary that is
equal to two-thirds (2/3) of the fees paid to the county assessor
for returning merchants' and manufacturerst lists and for making
assessments and returns on listsof personal property.
(g) The City Collector shall receive the sum of $650.00 per

® Section 5. Compensation of Temporary Policemen. Temporary
policemen shall receive as salary the sum of Five and one-half
($5.50) Dollars per day.
Section 6. Expense accounts for appointive officials and
employees. The following named appointive officials and employee
shall receive the expense accounts each month hereinafter stated:
(a) The Building Commissioner and Chief Inspector shall
receive a monthly expense account of $50.00.
(b) The Electrical Inspector shall receive a monthly expense
account of $50.00
(c) The Plumbing Inspector shall receive a monthly expense
account of $50.00

r' as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive on all delinquent:
taxes collected a sum equal to two (2%) per cent of the amount of
said delinquent taxes plus the penalty thereon, which amount shall
be added to the amount owed by the delinquent taxpayer and collect( d
from the person paying said delinquent taxes. In addition, the
sum of $1,000.00 shall be available annually to the office of the
City Collector for payment of such additional part time help, at
the rate of $ per hour, as the Collector shall require in
the efficient operation of his office.
(h) Members of the City Council shall receive the sum of
$75.00 per month as salary, and in addition thereto, shall receive
$50.00 per month as an expense account.
Section 3. Definitions . As used hereafter in this ordinance
the following terms shall have the following meanings:
(a) Period 1 - The Probationery Initial Six Months Period of
Employment .
(b) Period 2 - The Period of Employment beginning with the
Seventh Month and ending with the Eighteenth
Month.
(c) Period 3 - The Period of Employment beginning with the
Nineteenth Month and ending with the Thirtieth
Month.
(d) Period 4 - The Period of Employment beginning with the
Thirty First Month and ending with the Forty
Second Month.
(e) Period 5- The Period of Employment beginning with the
Forty Third Month and ending with the Fifty
Fourth Month.
(f) Period 6 - The Period of Employment beginning and contin-
uing on from the Fifty Fifth Month.
Section 4. Compensation of appointive officials and employees
The compensation to be paid to the following named appointive
• officials and employees of the city for the performance of all
duties prescrKbed by law shall be as follows:

(4) The Health & License Inspector shall receive a monthly
expense account of $50.00.
Section 7. Use of MuniciRally Owned Vehicles. The C—
Enginner, the Milk Inspe tar ta nd the Humane Officer shall be
furnished with a city owned vehicle suitable for use by them
in the performance of their duties.
Section 8. Clothinit Allowance. The Chief of Police, all
traffic patrolmen and policemen, regardless of rank, shall be
paid Fifteen ($15.00) Dollars per month as a clothing and uniform
allowance.
Section 9. Effective Date. The ordinance shall take effect
abd be in force as of March 1, 1962 upon its passage and approval.
