AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 6770 OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MO. , RESTRICTING THE WEIGHT OF MOTOR VEHICLES BEING
OPERATED ON SOUTHWEST BOULEVARD AND STADIUM DRIVE IN SAID CITY,
PROVIDING POR TIIE ISSUANCE OF OVERWEIGHT PERMITS AND PROVIDING A
PFXALTY, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJEC .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JIMPPERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 6770 of the City of Jefferson, Mo.,
restricting the weight of motor vehicles being operated on South-
west Boulevard and Stadium Drive, providing for the issuance of
overweight permits, and providing a penalty, be., and the same is
hereby, repealed.
Section 2. It is hereby declared unlawful for the operator of
a motor vehicle, having a gross weight of 18,000 pounds or more,
to permit the same to be operated on the following named streets
in said city or on any portion of the specifically designated
portions of said streets without first securing a permit to do
so as hereinafter provided:
(a) Stadium Drive between the intersection of said
street with Madison Street and its terminus at
the westerly corporate line of the City.
(b) Southwest Boulevard between the southern terminus
of said street and a point located 10100 feet
south of the south edge of U.S. Highway 50 West
(Dunklin Street) in said city.
Section 3. An overweight permit for local intermediate point
traffic shall be issued to the operator of any motor vehicle,
having a gross weight of 189000 pounds or more, by the Police
Department of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, under such terms
and conditions as may be deemed necessary.
Section 4. Anyone violating any of the terms of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
