AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTIONS 579 AND 580 OF TIE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, I41ISSOURI (BESING SECTIONS
1 AND 2 OF ARTICLE 11 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 2749 OF SAID CITY)
RELATING TO THE LICENSES FOR BANKS WITHIN `RIE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE
SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Sections 579 and 580 of the Revised Ordinances
of the City of Jefferson, lissouri, 1956, relating to the
licenses of banks doing business within said city be, and
the same are hereby, repealed.
Section 2. There are hereby enacted two new sections
to be known as Section 579 and Section 580 of the Revised
Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, relating
to licenses of banks doing business within said city, and
said sections shall read in words and figures as follows :
Banks
"Section 579. Must take out license. --Every person,
firm or corporation engaged in the banking business,
loaning money or receiving it on deposit, buying or
selling exchange shall purchase a city license in
the amount of One Hundred (3100. 00) Dollars to
conduct such business in the City of Jefferson,
Missouri .
Section 580. Penalty. -- Any person, company or
corporation who shall engage in the banking business,
loaning money and receiving it for deposit, or
buying and selling exchange, without first purchasing
a city license therefor as provided in Section 579
of the city ordinances of the City of Jefferson,
® Missouri, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in a
sum of not less than 515. 00 nor more than x$100.00. "
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
