AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING F'OR THE LEVY OF CITY TAXES AND
ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CITY OF JEFF10SON9
MISSOURI, FOR THE YEAR, 1962-1963.
lob BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby levied and assessed the follow-
ing rate on all Real Estate and Personal Property within the
limits of the City of Jeffersonp Mo.9 not exempt from taxation
by the Constitution or the laws of the State of Missouri, as
shown by the assessment book of the City of Jefferson, Mo., for
the year 1962-1963, and on all Merchants and Manufacturers., state-
ments, made as provided bylaw,.,
FIRST - For the purpose of paying all current expenses of
the City of Jefferson, Mo., for the fiscal year, the sum of

.85 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
SECOND - For the purpose of paying interest on the outstand-
ing bonds of the City of Jefferson, Mo., and for the purpose of
creating a sinking fund to retire the outstanding bonds of the
City of Jefferson, Mo., the sum of $ .50 cents on the one hundred
dollar valuation.
SW THIRD - For the purpose of establishing and maintaining a
Free Public Library in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of
.10 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
FOURTH - For the purpose of establishing and maintaining
Free Public Parks in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of
.20 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
FIFTH - For the purpose of creating a Firements Retirement
System for Firemen in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of
$ .05 cents on the one hundred dollar valuation.
SECTION 2. It shall be 'the duty of the City Clerk to cause
to be extended in the appropriate columns opposite each item of
taxable property on the assessment books as returned by the
Assessor of the City of Jefferson, Mo., and corrected by the
County Board of Equalization, the amount of taxes to be paid by
each person as provided by Section One of this Ordinance.
Section 3, This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
