AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE MOAB MUNICIPAL
ORDINANCES MODIFYING BED AND BREAKFAST WATER RATES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MOAB CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
That Chapter 13.24 of the Moab Municipal Ordinances shall be amended to read as
follows:
AMENDMENT TO MOAB MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 13.24.010
13.24.010 Water rate schedule. The rates for water supplied through meters to
all places in the city shall be as follows:
Rate No.1, Commercial within the city:
Minimum charge, 2,000 gallons or less per month, $9.00
Next 3,000 gallons, $2.00 per thousand gallons
Next 5,000 gallons, $0.51 per thousand gallons
Next 40,000 gallons, $0.59 per thousand gallons
All over 50,000 gallons, $0.70 per thousand gallons
The rates set out in this subsection shall apply to all users within the city
including multiple dwellings, duplex dwelling and apartment houses, but including
single-family dwellings.
Rate No. 2, Residential within the city:
Minimum charge
E. Rate No. 5, Bed and Breakfast within the city.
All bed and breakfasts are required to pay the City's prevailing commercial
water rate surcharge according to the following formula:
1. square footage of the number of allowed bedroom rentals as specified in the
conditional use permit; plus
2. one-third (1 /3) the square footage of the kitchen area where bed and
breakfast meals are prepared; plus
3. sum of bed and kitchen square footage calculated in Section 17. 70. 040 (D)
(1+2) divided by the total square footage of the bed and breakfast establishment as
l recorded in the conditional use permit will be used to determine the percentage of the

bed and breakfast facility's water rate surcharge that will be charged at the prevailing
commercial rate.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
