A special.meeting of Council was held to -day at 4:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber, at Butler Avenue:, and 15th Str,eet., and was attended by Mayor Righton, who presided, and°Councilmen Logan, Vay, Young, and Haar and Town Attorney Dutton. Mayor Righton asked for a report Deem the Committee appointed to call off Councilman Cann, Councilman Logan speaking for the Committee stated that Councilman Cann informed the Committee that he had. given very thoughtful consideration to the request that he reconsider withdrawing his resignation as Councilman, but es was getting along in life and had to .carry on the burden of the firm, he felt that the resignation would have to stand, he was always interested in the welfare of Tybee and would be glad to help whenever called upon. Councilw..n Young moved that Councilman Cann's resignation be accepted and that a Committee be appointed to draw up a proper resolution covering his long term of office as Councilman; Councilman Haar seconded and the motion passed unanamously: RESOLUTION. AREAS, it is desirable for Savannah Beach, Trbee Island, Geor to make, execute and deliver to Ernest J. Haar, as. ,Executor of the last will. and testament of Frederick H. Haar, a quit claim deed to said property, formerly conveyed and used as a right -of -way, as aforesaid* NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor be, and he is authorized to execute in the name and in behalf of Savannah Beach, Tyhee Island, a quit claim deed unto the said Ernest J. Haar, as Executor of the last will and testament of Frederick H. Haar, conveying title to all of the ppoperty des- cribed in that certain deed from J. H. Estill to Savannah and Ty-bee Railway Company, which deed is recorded in the Clerk's office of the Superior Court of Chatham County, Georgia, in record book 6 L's, folio 4, therein and herein . referred to as a right -of ray; said property and/or right of may being a portion of the property conveyed by the Central of Georgia Railway Company and H. D. Pollard, as Receiver of Central of Georgia 11way, to Savannah Beach TYbee Island, which deed is recorded in the Clerk's office of the Superior Court of Chatham County, Georgia, in record book 29 S's, folio 3$3. WHEREAS, Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, by deed from Central of Georgia Railway Company and H. D. Pollard, 'as Receiver of Central of Georgia Railway, dated March 2nd, 1934, and recorded in the Clerk's office of the Superior Court of Chatham County, Georgia, record book 29 Sts, folio 383, acquired title, subject to the provisions of said deed, to a certain right- of-way used by said Railway, which right -of-way here referred to is the s right-of-way described in that certain deed from J. H. Estill to the Savannah and Tybee Railway Company, dated September 8th, 1833, and recorded in the Clerk's office of the Superior Court of Chatham County, (horgia, in record book 6 Vs, folio 4; and WHEREAS, the habendum clause of said deed from J . H. Estill to Savannah and Tybee Railway Company, as aforesaid, provides: "Ta ha�3 and to hold the right- o1-way unto the said party of the second part, its successors and assigns,to its and their only proper use, benefit and behoof fo and to and for no other use, intent or purposes whatever, and WHEREAS, the Central of Georgia Railway Company and H. Jorss, CQU,ncilman Haar nominated Morris Slotin,after some discussion Coumcilmarld*ed that the nominations be closed, Councilman Logan seconded, Councilman Young called for a recess of five minutes., after the Mayor called Council to order, and called for a vote for Roland R.Jones, those voting yes; Logan, those voting no,; Young, May, Haar. The Mayor then called for a vote. for Morris Slotin, those voting, yes; Young, May and Haar, those voting, no; Logan. Mr. Slotin was immediately sworn in as Co-Ancilma.n, by Mr. J.Gordon Miller,jr., who administered the following oath him, OATH. . The regtl.r meeting of Council was held to -day at 4:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber, at Butler Avenue and Fifteenth Street, and Was attended by Mayor, who presided, and Councilmen Logan, Slotin, Lovell, Young, Haar, and May, and Ton Attorney Dutton. The minutes of the meetings of August 4th, 14th and September let and 12th were read and adopted. The Committee on Town Hall submitted a report that the cost of furnishings fc-ir the Town Hall would amount to $426.11, which does not include completeing the heating system, Councilman Slotin moved that t„e necessary furnishings.ibe purchased and that the heating system be completed, the cost to remain with - in the estimate, Councilman Logan seconed and the motion passed.
