AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING AS A
PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE A PORTION OF ELM STREET AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE
CITY CLERIC TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY INSTRUMENTS TO THE OWNER OF THE ADJACENT !
,PROPERTY NECESSARY TO CONFIRM THE REVERSIONERY RIGHTS OF THE ABUTTING OWNER IN
THE VACATED RIGHT OF WAY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares that
it is necessary and expedient to vacate and discontinue for public thoroughfare
purposes the following described property which now forms a part of the right
of way of Elm Street within the said City:
A tract of land lying within the City of
Jefferson, County of Cole, Missouri, and
more particularly described as follows:
"Beginning at the southwest corner of Inlot
660 then in a southwesterly direction, along
an extension of the westerly line of Inlot 660
a distance of 10.0 feet; then in a southeasterly
direction and parallel to the south line of
Inlots 660, 661, 662 and 663, a distance of
417.5 feet, to a point on the extended east line
of Inlot 663 which is 10.0 feet southwesterly from
the southeast corner of Inlot 663; thence in a
northeasterly direction, along and with the extension
of the east line of Inlot663, a distance of 10.0
feet to the southeast corner of Inlot 663;
thence northwesterly along and with the southerly
line of Inlots 663,662, 661, and 660, a distance
of 417.5 feet more or less, to the southwest corner
of Inlot 660 and the point of beginning."
Section 2. The owner of all property adjacent to and abutting the
abutting the above described portion of public street right of way having petitioned
the City Council to vacate and discontinue said area as a part of a public
thoroughfarg, it is hereby declared that the above described protion of presentlyll
existing public street right of way is forever vacated and discontinued as part
of a public thoroughfare.
Section 3. The right of reversion to the owner of the public
street right of way described in Section 1 of this ordinance, as the abutting and
adjacent property owner or owners, is hereby fully confirmed and approved as is
provided by the statutes of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor and the City
Clerk of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, are hereby authorized and directed for nd
on behalf of the City and in its name to execute all proper and sufficient wiitin s
an fully and completely confirm the rights of reversion in and to the abutting
property owner in connection with the vacation of the protion of a public thoroug -
fare as described above.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from
and after its passage and approval.
