AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCOnTINUING AS A PUBLIC STREET A PORTION OF CHICAGO ROAD AS
RIGHT OFWAY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES, AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
AND THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, TO EXECUTE
ANY INSTRUMENT NECESSARY TO CONFIRM IN THE ABUTTING PROPERTY
QP OWNERS ',THEIR STATUTORY RIGHT OF REVERSION IN THE VACATED AREA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It is hereby declared that the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, deems it expedient and necessary to vacate and
discontinue asa public street a portion of Chicago Road as
right of way for public street purposes, and the portion of Chicag
Road to be so vacated and that is hereby vacatedis described as
follows:
"From the northeast cooper of Lot 51, Block 1, Sunset
Place Addition, as per plat of record in Plat Book 2
at Page 40, Cole County Recorder's Office; thence
north along the extended east line of Lot 51, Block 19
d st ce of 45.0 feet, more or less, to a point that
wwwo op is 205.0 feet west of the east line of said Sunset Place
tJ Addition and the point of beginning of this description:
o ism thence northeasterly to a point that is 500.0 feet north
00.0 of the south line and 2100.0 feet west of the east line
1p j*W of said Sunset Place Addition; thence in a northerly
direction along a curved line to a point on the westerly
line of Chicago Road that is 580.0 feet north of the
south line and 2084.0 feet west of the east line of said
Sunset Place Addition; thence northwesterly along and with
the westerly line of Chicago Road and the southerly line
of Cole Drive, as originally platted, to a point 40.0 feet
easterly of the northwesterly corner of Lot 40, Block 1,
Sunset Place Addition; thence North 13 degrees 12 minutes
East a distance of 21.0 feet, to a point on the northerly
extension of the west line of Lot 61, Block 1, Sunset Place
Addition, that is 646.0 feet north of the south line of
Sunset Place Addition; thence southeasterly in a direct
line to a point that is 523.0 feet north of the south line
and 1931.0 feet west of the east line of saidiSunset Place
Addition; thence southwesterly on a direct line to a point
that is 2017.0 feet west of the east line and 500.0 feet
north of the south line of Sunset Place Addition; thence
in a southwesterly direction on a direct line to a point
that is 2232.0 feet west of the east line and 255.0 feet
north of the south line of Sunset Place Addition; thence
In a southerly direction along a curved line to a point
that is 2215.0 feet west of the east line and 21310 feet
north of the south line of said Addition; thence westerly
in a direct line to the point of beginning."
Section 2. The owners of all property abutting upon and
adjacent to the above described portion of Chicago Road as a
public street right of way, having petitioned the City Council
to vacate and dscontinue said right of way as a public street,
and said petition having been referred to the Street Committee
of the City Council for study, investigation and consideration,
and the Street Committee of the City Council having recommended
that said petition be granted and that the above described public
street right of way be vacated, it is hereby declared that the
above described street right of way platted as Chicago Road is,
and it is hereby, forever vacated abd discontinued as a right of
way for public street purposes.
Section 3. The statutory right of reversion in the owners
of the land abutting the above described public street right of
way, as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri , is
S hereby confirmed, and the MAyor and the City Clerk of the City
are hereby authorized and directed to execute all instruments
necessary to confirm in the aforesaid abutting and adjacent
property owners their statutory right of reversion in the right
of way hereinabove vacated.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
