AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MIS90URI , VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING FOR THE PURPOSE OF A PUBLIC ALLEY CERTAIN
SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED RIGHT OF WAY IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE
CITY CLERIC OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE ANY INSTRUMENT NECESSARY
TO CONFIRM IN THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS THEIR STATUTORY
RIGHT OF REVERSION IN THE VACATED AREA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. It is hereby declared that the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, deems it expedient and necessary to vacate and dis-
continue for the purpose of a public alley certain right of way
within the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and more specifically
described as follows:
"A strip of land twenty (20) feet wide by 124
feet 4 and 1/2 inches in length, extending
easterly from the easterly right of way line
of Bolivar Street , and lying between Inlots
No' s. 656 and 657 on the north and Inlots
No' s. 660 and 661 on the south."
Section 2. The owner of all property abutting upon the above
described right of way having petitioned the City Council to
vacate and discontinue said right of way for the purpose of a
public alley, and the matter having been referred to the Street
Committee of the City Council for study and consideration, and
the Street Committee having recommended to the City Council that
the petition be granted and that the above described right of way
be vacated and discontinued, it is hereby declared that the above
described right of way is forever vacated and discontinued as a
right of way for the purpose of a public alley or thoroughfare.
Section 3. The statutory right of reversion in the owner of
the land abutting the above described right of way; as provided
by the laws of Missouri, is hereby fully confirmed, and the Mayor
and the City Clerk of said city are hereby authorized and directed
to execute any instrument necessary to confirm in the abutting
property owner the statutory right of reversion in the above
described right of way.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
