The Street Departmant Clerk Typist shall be paid $1.50 per hour (not to exceed sixteen hour per week) for each hour of work, which shall be certified monthly by the Street Commissioner. Section 7. Part time parking garage attendants. Part time municipal parking garage relief attendants shall be paid $1.25 per hour for each hour worked. Section 8. Expense accounts for appointive officials. The following-named appointive officials shall receive the following monthly expense accounts: (1) The Building commissioner and Chief Inspector shall I receive a monthly expense account of $50.00. (2) The Electrical Inspector shall receive a monthly expense account of $50.004 (3) The Plumbing Inspector shall receive a monthly expense account of $50.00. (4) The Fire Inspector shall receive a monthly expense account of $25.00. (5) The Health & License Inspector shall receive a monthly expense account of $50.00. Section 9 . Municipally owned vehicles. The City Engineer, the Milk Inspector, the Street Superintendent and the Humane Officer shall be furnished with a suitable city owned vehicle for use by them in the performance of their duties. Section 10. Clothing allowance. (A) All members of the Police Department shall be paid Fifteen ($15.00) Dollars per month as a clothing and uniform allowance. (B) All municipal parking garage attendants shall be paid $10.00 per month as a clothing and uniform allowance. Section 11. OF the City of Jefferson, 1956) AND SECTIONS 3, �+, 5, AND '6, Oy ORDINANCE' NUMBER:6177 (BEING SECTIONS 287-291 R.O. OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, 1956) CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY PHYSICIAN AND RELATEING TO THE QUALIFICATIONS, POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE OFFICE, AND CREATING THE OFFICE OF HEALTH OFFICER, AND RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT, QUALIFICATIONS, POWERS AND DUTIES OF THAT OFFICE, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE DEPARTMENT 1V PUBLIC HEALTH, PRESCRIBING THE PERSONNEL THERIN, AND PROVID 'TG FOR THEIR QUALIFICATIONS, APPOINTMENT, DUTIES AND POWERS. I i `.'L7 1 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: I� Section 1. Ordinance Number 2701 of the City of Jefferson, iiMissouri (being Section 206-209 of the Revised Ordinances of i� the City of Jefferson, 1956) relating to the office of the City Physician, and prescribing the qualifications, powers and duties of said office, and Sections 2 through 6 of Ordinance Number 6177 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, (being Section 287- 291 of the Revised Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, 1.956) creating the office of Health Officer, and relating to the Qualifications, appointment, powers dnd duties of that office, be, and the same are hereby, repealed. Section 2, Department of Public Health. There is hereby established a Department of Public Health of:�thef-City of Jefferson, Missouri. Section 3. Commissioner of Public Health,appointment. At the first regular meeting of the council after each annual city election, ' or as soon thereafter as practiable, the Mayor, with the consent of a majority of the members elected to the City Council, shall appoint a competent man to the office of Commissioner of Public Health. The person so appointed shall hold the office until his successor shall have been appointed and shat have qualified. If a vacancy occur in the office for any reason, the Mayor shall appoint a suitable person to discharge the duties of the office until the first regular meeting of the city council occuring after the vacancy, at which time the vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term in the manner above prescribed. Section 4. Oath and qualifications. The person appointed to the office of Commissioner of Public Health shall, before entering upon the duties of that office, take the oath required by the city charter for city officers. No person shall be appointed Ito the office who is less than 25 years old and the person to be appointed must be graduate of a reputable medical college or osteopathic college, as prescribed by Section 334.031 R. S. it 48 Mo. , 19619 and must be a practicing physician and surgeon in good standing with the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts of the State of Missouri. Section 5. Duties. The Commissioner of Public Health shall report to the board of health of the city the outbreak of any epidemic of malignant, infectious or contagious diseases, after investigating the nature thereof, and thereafter, he shall take such action as, in his judgment, the public safety may require. He shall report to the board of health the exisence of any unsanitary condition that may affect the health and welfare of the citizens of the community. He shall administer to such I sick or diseased persons confined in the jail of the city and to such other indigent persons as may be designated by the board of health of the city. PUBLIC HEALTH AND RESTAURANT INSPECTOR Section 6. Public Health and Restaurant Inspector. The office. of Public Health and Restaurant Inspector is hereby created. Section 7. Appointment. The public health and restaurant inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the majority of the elected members of the city council. He shall be appointed on or before the second regular meeting of the city epuncil after the general election in the year 1961 and every two years thereafter and he shall serve until his successor shall have been appointed and shall have qualified. In the event of a vacancy in said office, the Mayor shall appoint a suitable �etaw Vo didehazgb the duties of §si4 office emt511 the first regular meeting of the city council occuring after the vacanpy, at which time the vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term in the above prescribed manner. Section 8. Oath and qualifications. The Public Health and Restaurant Inspector shall, before entering upon the duties of his office, take the oath required by the city charter for city officers. The Public Health and Restaurant Inspector shall be at least twent one years of age . sober, reliable and physically and mentally -able to discharge the duties of the office. He shall give a bond in the amount of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars conditoned upon the faithful performance of his duties. Section 9. Duties. The Public Health and Restaurant Inspector shall enforce the restaurant code of the city, known as Sections 1107-1120 R. 0. of the City of Jefferson, Missouri (being Sections 7 through 21 of Ordinance Number 6177 of said city) , and he shall investigate all complaints relating to the creation, maintenance or existence of any condition of public nuisance and make a report thereof to the board of health of the city and to the city attorney.
