AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON MISSOURI AMENDING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 7153 OF THE CITY ENRTLED "AN 60INANCE
RELATING TO CIVIL DEFENSE" BY REPEALING AND REENACTING
SECTION 2 OF SAID ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE DIRECTOR OF CIVIL
DEFENSE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance Number 7153 of the
city, relating to Civil Defense, be, and the same is hereby
repealed.
Section 2. There is hereby enacted an ordinance to be
known as Section 2 of Ordinance Number 7153 of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, which shall read in words and figures
as follows:

Section 2. Civil Defense Aciency Created-
director; duties. There is hereby created within
e executive branch of the city government of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, a Division of Civil
Defense, hereinafter called the civil defense
agency, and a Director of Civil Defense, herein-
after called the Director, who shall be the head
thereof. The Director shall be appointed by the
Mayor with the advise and consent of the City
Council. He shall not hold any other elective
municipal office and he shall devote such time to
the duties of his office as may be prescribed by .
the mayof. He shall hold office at the pleasure
of the mayor and shall receive such salary as may
be prescribed by the Mayor and approved by the
City Council.
The director, subject to the direction and
control of the mayor, shall be the executive head of
the civil defense agency and shall be responsible
to the Mayor for carrying out the program of
civil defense of the City of Jefferson, Missouri.
He shall coordinate the activities of all
organizations for civil defense within this city,
and shall maintain liaison and cooperation with
civil defense agencies and organizations of the
State of Missouri and of the Federal Government,
and shall have such additional authority, duties
and responsibilities authorized by this ordinance
• as may be prescribed by the Mayor."
�1 Section 3. Thin ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage and approval.
