AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CREATING THE
POSITION OF ASSISTANT HUMANE OFFICER, PRESCRIBING THE METHOD
OF APPOINTMENT, QUALIFICATIONS, TERM, DUTIES, COMPENSATION OF
SAID OFFICE AND PROVIDING FOR THE SUPERVISION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Assistant Humane Officer. The position of
assistant humane officer in the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
is hereby created.
Section 2. Appointment. The assistant humane officer
shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of a majority
of the elected members of the city council.
Section 3. Term. The assistant humane officer shall
hold his position at the pleasure of the mayor or until removed
by the city council in accordance with the ordinances of the
city.
Section 4. (qualifications. The assistant humane officer
:® shall be a resident of the city, of the male sex, at least
twenty-one years of age, sober and industrious, and physically
and mentally able to perform the duties of the position.
Section 5. Duties. The assistant humane officer shall
assist the humane officer in enforcing the provisions of all
ordinances of the city regulating and relating to animals and
fowls.
Section 6. Supervision. The assistant humane officer
shall be supervised in the performance of his duties by the
city marshall and the police department.
Section 7. Compensation. The assistant humane officer
shall be paid a monthly salary of Three Hundred ($300.00)
Dollars.
