INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEN: RINER AND ROBERTSON ORDINANCE NO. � AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING SECTION 113 .5, RELATING TO PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND SECTION 118.2, RELATING TO FEES FOR BUILDING PERMITS OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 7187, ENTITLED THE "BUILDING CODE" AND ENACTING TWO NEW SECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 113 .5 AND 118.2 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 7187 RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 . Section 113 .5, relating to plans and specifications and Section 118.2, relating to fees for building permits, of Ordinance Number 7187, known as the "Building Code" of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, be, and the same aye hereby repealed. Section 2. There is hereby enacted a provision to be known as Section 113 .5 of Ordinance Number 7187, relating to plans and specifications which section shall read in words and figures as follows: "113.5 Plans and Specifications . - The application for the permit shall be accompanied by not less than two (2) copies of specifications and drawings drawn to scale, with sufficient clarity and detail dimensions to show the nature and character of the work to be performed including general construction, structural, mechanical, and electrical work. Each separate sheet of the required drawings and each set of specifications, for all buildings except buildings herein exempted, shall bear the seal and signature of a registered architect or a registered professional engineer in good standing on the records of the Missouri State Board of Registration for Architects and Professional Engineers. Buildings exempted from these requirements are: Single Family Dwellings. Two Family Dwellings. Apartments for occupancy by not more than four families . Buildings with a volume of not more than 20, 000 cubic feet which do not provide for the employment, housing, or assembly of more than ten (10) persons . Buildings not over 1, 200 square feet in ground area which do not exceed thirty feet (30) in height from the lowest floor to the uppermost ceiling and,which do not provide for the employment, housing, or assembly of more than ten (10) persons. Each set of plans and/or specifications shall contain a state- ment signed by the architect or engineer as follows: I hereby certify that these plans and/or specifications have been prepared by me, or under my supervision. I further certify that to the best of my knowledge these plans and/or specifications are as required by and in compliance with the Building Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri. Architect or Engineer" Section 3. There is hereby enacted a provision to be known as Section 118. 2 of Ordinance No. 7187, relating to fees for building permits which section shall read in words and figures as follows: "118. 2. New Construction and Alterations: The fees for building permits shall be in accordance with the following schedule: New Buildings Fees based on gross area including garages, carports and finished basements. Buildings of 0 to 3,000 sq.ft. - $0. 015 per square foot plus $0. 0025 per square foot for unfinished basements, with a minimum fee of $4. 00. Buildings of 3,001 to 10, 000 sq.ft. - $45. 00 plus $0. 01 per square foot for area above 3, 000 sq. ft. , plus $0. 0025 per square foot for unfinished basements. Buildings over 10, 000 sq.ft. - $115. 00 plus $0. 005 per square foot for area over 10,000 sq.ft. , plus $0. 0025 per square foot for unfinished basements. Remodeled Buildings Fees based on estimated total construction costs. $0. 00 to $1, 000. 00--------------------$2. 00 $1, 000. 01 to $5,000. 00--$2. 00 per thousand dollars of cost. Over $5,000. 00 -- $10. 00 plus $1. 00 per thousand dollars of cost over $5,000. 00. " Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval. �.
