ORDINANCE NO. �3 >�
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CREATING THE
OFFICE OF CITY FISCAL OFFICER, AND PRESCRIBING THE METHOD
OF APPOINTMENT, QUALIFICATIONS, TERM, DUTIES AND COMPENSATION
OF THE OFFICE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Fiscal Officer. The office of fiscal
officer of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby created
and established.
Section 2. Appointment and term. The fiscal officer
shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of a majority
of the elected members of the ci.ty council. He shall hold
his office at the pleasure of the mayor or until removed
by the city council in accordance with the ordinances of the
city.
Section 3. Qualifications. The fiscal officer shall
be a resident of the city, at least twenty-acne years of age,
a high school graduate, have attended and successfully completed
at least two years in a recognized business college, and shall
have had at least three years of actual experience as an
1p accountant, auditor or bookkeeper.
Section 4. Duties. The fiscal officer shall assist
in the preparation of the city budget for each fiscal year,
audit the monthly budget reports of each department of the city,
assist each department head in establishing an efficient .
system for the maintenance and use of accurate financial records,
and make reports and recommendations to the mayor and the
city council relating to the financial condition of the city
and methods to improve the fiscal practices of the city.
Sectbn 5. Compensation. The fiscal officer shall
receive a monthly salary of Three Hundred Fifty ($350 .00)
Dollars.
Section 6. Effective date. This ordinance shall take
