AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY, PRESCRIBI I
A PRESUMPTION THAT ANY VEHICLE, PARKED IN VIOLATION OF THE
ORDINANCE, WAS PARKED BY THE OWNER THEREOF, AND PROVIDING A PENALTIY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MO. ,

AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Two Hour ParkLng Zone. The operator of a
vehicle shall not park the same for a period of time in excess of
two hours between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 5 :00 P.M. on any day,J
except Saturday and Sunday or any legal holiday, at any place within
the limits described on the designated portion of the following
named roadway:
(1) On the north half or north shoulder of
U. S. Highway 50 between Georgia Street
and Virginia Street, and 50 ft. north
on Virginia Street.
(2) On the east half of Virginia Street,
north of and within 50 feet of the port
edge of U. S. Highway 50.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution fo
a violation of any provision of Sectionl, proof that the vehicle
described in the complaint was parked in violation of any provisio
of Section 1, together with proof that the defendant named in the
f complaint was at the time of such parking the owner of the vehicle
shall constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the
owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the vehicle at the
point where, and for the time during which, such violation occurre .
Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeano;,
and upon convition thereof shall be fined not more than $100.00 or
be imprisoned in jail for not more than 90 days, or be punished
both by such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in fo ce
from and after its passage and approval.
