AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING
A LOADING ZONE ON A ROADWAY IN THIS HTY REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MO'T'OR VEHICLES THEREIN, PROVIDING A PRESUMPTION THAT
ANY VEHICLE PARKED IN VIOLATION OF THE ORDINANCE WAS PARKED
BY THE OWNER THEREOF, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
bection 1. Loading Gone. The operator of a vehicle
! shall not park the same for a period of time in excess of that,
or for any purpose other than, authorized hereinafter within
the described limits on the designated portion of the following-
named roadway:
(1) Missouri Osteopathic Association. On the north
half of McCarty
Street between two points located 28 feet and
48 feet west of the west curb of Adams Street.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for
a violation of any provision of Section 1, proof that the
vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation of
any provision of Section 1, together with proof that the de-
fendant named in the complaint was at the time of such parking
the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a prima
facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person
who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time
during which, such violation occurred.
Section S. Penalty. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more
than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more than 90 days
or be punished both by such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
