HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-25-20 ABCABC BOARD MEETING A meeting of the ABC Board of the Borough of Carteret was called to SEPTEMBER 25, 2020 order by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman on Friday, September 25, 2020 at approximately 9:02 a.m., remotely, via telephone call -in. Upon Individual Roll Call, the following were noted present: ROLL CALL Commissioner James A. Failace " Frank James, Jr. Mayor Daniel J. Reiman Also noted present were Robert J. Bergen, Esq., Borough Attorney and Carmela Pogorzelski, Board Secretary. The meeting was opened with a moment of silent prayer and the SILENT PRAYER/ Pledge of Allegiance led by Conmiissioner Failace. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Notice of today's meeting was sent to The Home News Tribune STATEMENT OF and The Star Ledger and posted on the bulletin board, the doors of the MEETING NOTICE Memorial Municipal Building and the Borough's website on September 16, 2020. Notice was published in The Home News Tribune and The Star Ledger on September 22, 2020. All items being voted on were posted on the Borough's website, www.catleret.net prior to today's meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to approve liquor license renewals and PURPOSE OF any other business that may come before the Board. MEETING Minutes for Approval — March 20, 2020. MINUTES FOR APPROVAL Upon MMS &C, by Commissioners Failace and James and affirmative vote of the full membership present the Minutes of March 20, 2020 were approved as transcribed and engrossed by the Clerk. SEPTEMBER 25, 2020 (continued) OPEN TO PUBLIC Upon MMS &C, by Conur issioners Failace and James and unanimous affirmative vote of the full membership present, the meeting was opened to the public. There being no comments or objections, upon MMS &C, by CLOSED TO PUBLIC Commissioners Failace and James and unanimous affirmative vote of the full membership present, the meeting was closed to the public. RESOLUTION #03 -20 AUTHORIZING 2020 -2021 LIQUOR LICENSE RENEWALS Resolution #03 -20 was introduced by Mayor Reiman and referred to the Board for action. Mayor Reiman reminded the commissioners when voting to abstain on any of the licenses listed on the resolution if they are a member of any of the clubs listed, not just a member of any executive board. Upon MMS &C, by Commissioner Failace and James RESOLUTION #03 -20 "AUTHORIZING 2020 -2021 LIQUOR LICENSE RENEWALS." ADOPTED was Adopted. Upon individual roll call vote, Mayor Reiman Abstained on license #009 & #032 - CBP and 4065 - Craftsmen Club and voted in the affirmative on all others, Commissioner Failace Abstained on license 4047 — American Legion, 4052 — Columbian Club and #058 — VFW and voted in the affirmative on all others and Commissioner James voted in the affirmative with no Abstentions. 7 SEPTEMBER 25, 2020 (continued) Mayor Reiman asked if anyone had any comments or questions before adjourning the meeting. Conur issioner Failace and Commissioner James said no. There being no further conmients or discussion, upon MMS &C, by ADJOURNED Commissioners Failace and James and unanimous affirmative vote of the full membership present, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:05 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Board Secretary 3 1
