HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD07446 BILL NO. rr INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN : Hawes ORDINANCE NO. 7 y yi AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF BALD HILL ROAD BETWEEN THE WESTERLY CURB LINE OF HOBBS TERRACE AND THE EASTERLY CURB LINE OF PEYTON DRIVE, IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY GRADING AND PAVING WHERE NECESSARY WITH ASPHALTIC CONCRETE AND CURBING AND GUTTERING SAME, WHERE NECESSARY, WITH PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS : Section 1. Whereas, it has heretofore been found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by its resolution passed and approved on the -4rH day of /�4✓ 7vIC3 0. , 196Z , necessary to grade and pave with asphaltic concrete and to curb and gutter, where necessary, with Portland cement concrete, the roadway of Bald Hill Road between the westerly curb line of Hobbs Terrace and the easterly curb line of Peyton Drive; and it appearing to the City Council that said resolution has been duly published according to law for seven consecutive insertions in the Post Tribune, a daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Jefferson, Missouri; and having heard those who desire to be heard on the matter concerning the grading, paving, curbing and guttering of said street, and after finding that said portion of Bald Hill Road lying between the westerly curb line of Hobbs Terrace and the easterly curb line of Peyton Drive, is less than 1200 feet in length and will commect two paved and improved streets, the City Council finds and reaffirms the necessity of doing such work and making such street improvement. Section 2. That the roadway of Bald Hill Road, between the westerly curb line of Hobbs Terrace and the easterly curb line of Peyton Drive, be graded and paved with asphaltic concrete and curbed and guttered, where necessary, with Portland cement concrete, in accordance with the plans and specifications submitted by the City Engineer and filed in the office of the City Clerk. y Section 3. That the cost of the aforesaid grading, paving and guttering work shall be paid by the City of Jefferson, Missouri, from funds available in the Street Bond Issue Fund and the cost of the aforesaid curbing work shall be charged and levied as a special assessment against the real estate abutting and fronting on the contemplated improvement and that special tax bills be issued therefor as provided by the statutes of the State of Missouri and Sections 826 through 829 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956 . Section 4. The City Engineer is hereby authorized and instructed to advertise for bids for this improvement. Section 5.
