BANNING THE SALE OF LIQUOR IN CERTAIN SIZED CONTAINERS
y it has been reported that the borough has been inundated with discarded,
alcoholic beverage containers; and
EAS, the Borough of Carteret Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (`Board "), after
been advised by its attorney, after his consultation with the Police Chief and
+ maintenance official, that said discarded containers present a significant public
threatening the public health and safety of the Borough's residents, are desirous
nating this hazard.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Borough of Carteret Alcoholic
e Control Boatel sitting as the Local Alcohol Beverage Enforcement Authority, as
1. That, effective January' 2, 2022, the sale of single -serve 50 nil containers of
hard liquor, commonly referred to as `Sups," and single 12 to 24 oz. containers
of alcoholic beverages such as beer or malt beverages, shall be banned in the
Borough.
2. That this ban shall not apply to pre - packaged, sets of multiple `Snips," often
sold as introductory or promotional items, br beer or malt beverage containers
sold in the common, pre- packaged format, such as four packs or in larger
groupings.
