AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING SECTION
960 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
1956, RELATING TO THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE PARK BOARD OF THE
CITY, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Section 960 of the Revised Ordinances of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, relating to the powers and
duties of the park board be, and the same is hereby, repealed.
Section 2 . There is hereby enacted a new provision to be
known as Section 960 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, relating to the powers and duties of
the park board, which shall read in words and figures as follows :
"Section 960. Powers and duties of park board.
Said directors shall, immediately after appointment meet
and organize by the election of one of their number
president, and by the election of such other officers
as they may deem necessary. They shall make and
sdopt such by=laws, rules and regulations for their
own guidance and for the government of the parks as
may be expedient, not inconsistent with this ordinance.
They shall have exclusive control of the expenditure
of all money collected to the credit of the park fund
and of the supervision, improvement, care and custody of
said parks : Provided, that all money received for
such parks shall be deposited in the treasury of
Jefferson City to the credit of the park fund and shall
be paid out of that fund to the park board as often as
the money becomes available but not more often than
monthly. "Said board shall have power to purchase or
otherwise secure grounds to be used for parks; shall
have the power to appoint a suitable person to take
care of said parks and necessary assistants for said
person, and shall fix their compensation, and shall
have the power to remove such appointees; and shall in
general carry out the spirit and intent of this
ordinance in establishing and maintaining public parks."
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from an after its passage and approval. p/
