AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING ORDINANCE
NUMBER 5880 OF THE CITY BY REPEALING SUBPARAGRAPH 4 OF SECTION 1002
OF ARTICLE X AUTHORIZING THE USE OF A BUILDING OR PREMISES IN AN E
LOCAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT FOR RECEIVING STORES FOR DRY OR STEAM
CLEANING WHICH CLEANING SHALL BE DONE ELSEWHERE AND ENACTING A
NEW SUBPARAGRAPH TO BE KNOWN AS SUBPARAGRAPH 4 OF SECTION 1002
OF ARTICLE X OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 5880 AUTHORIZING THE USE OF A
BUILDING OR PREMISES IN AN E LOCAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO BE USED,
AMONG OTHER THINGS, FOR DRY CLEANING AND PRESSING ESTABLISHMENTS,
EMPLOYING LESS THAN FIVE (5) PERSONS AND USING NON-FLAMMABLE
CLEANING SOLVENTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council at its meeting of November 4,
1963 was petitioned in writing to delete subparagraph 4 of
Section 1002 of Article X of Ordinance Number 5880 and to sub-
stitute in lieu thereof a new subparagraph 4 of Section 1002 of
Article X of said ordinance reading as follows: "4. Dry Cleaning
and Pressing Establishments,% and
WHEREAS, the City Council referred said petition to the
City Planning and Zoning Commission for its consideration, hearing
and recommendation, and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission, at its meeting
on November 211 19631 upon consideration and hearing, did
recommend to the City Council, by its report received and read by
the Council at its meeting of December 2, 1963, that subparagraph 4
of Section 1002 of Article X of Ordinance Number 5880 be deleted
and in lieu thereof that the following subparagraph 4 be substituted
therefor:
"4. Dry Cleaning and Pressing Establishments
employing less than 5 persons and using
non flammable cleaning solvents."
WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson, Missouri, through its clerk,
caused a notice of hearing by the City Council and the recommendation
of the Planning and Zoning Commission to be published for three
consecutive days in the Jefferson City Post Tribune, a newspaper
of general circulation published within the city, the last date of
publication occurring more than fifteen days prior to the date of
the hearing fixed in said notice, wherein all persons were invited
to appear at the time and place of the hearing and be heard in
support of or in opposition to the recommendation of the Planning
and Zoning Commission, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, on this 6th day of January, 1964,
has held the hearing at the time and place specified in the notice
thereof, and has heard all views expressed by everyone desiring to
be heard, now therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Subparagraph 4 of Section 1002 of Article X of
Ordinance Number 5880 be, and the same is hereby, repealed.

Section 2. A new provision of Ordinance Number 5880, to
be known and cited as subparagraph four (4) of Section 1002 of
Article X thereof, is hereby enacted and said provision shall
read in words and figures as follows: "4. Dry Cleaning and
Pressing Establishments employing less than 5 persons and using
non-flammable cleaning solvents, so that Section 1002 of
Article X of Ordinance Number 5880, as amended, shall read, in
part, as follows:
"Section 1002. A building or premises shall be
used only for the following
purposes.
4. Dry Cleaning and pressing Establishments
employing less than 5 persons and using non-
flammable cleaning solvents."
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
