ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI DISCONTINUING
AS A RIGHT OF WAY FOR A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE AND VACATING A
PART OF A 20 FOOT ALLEY IN BLOCK 20 OF RENNS ADDITION, PER
PLAT OF RECORD IN PLAT BOOK 2 AT PAGE 2, COLE COUNTY RECORDER'S
OFFICE, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE CLERK
OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE IN WRITING ALL INSTRUMENTS NECESSARY
OR REQUIRED TO CONFIRM IN THE OWNERS OF THE ADJACENT LAND
THEIR REVERSIONARY RIGHTS IN AND TO THE VACATED AREA.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the City Council of
the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the owners of land,
abutting on that portion of a twenty (20 ) foot alley in
Block 20 of Renns Addition described in Section 1 of this
ordinance, have petitioned the City Council to discontinue
as a right of way for a public thoroughfare and vacate the
said portion described, and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that the area
petitioned to be vacated is not used by the public, and that
any prospective use thereof would be of no benefit to the
public, and that it would not inconvenience the public or the

citizens of this city to discontinue as a right of way for a
public thoroughfare and vacate that portion of a twenty (20) foot
alley described in Section 1 of this ordinance, now therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI:, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 . The City Council of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, hereby declares it necessary, reasonable and proper
to discontinue as a right of way for a public thoroughfare
and forever vacate the following-described property:
"All that part of a twenty (20) foot
alley in Block 20 of Renns Addition
that is bounded on the east by Lot 131
Block 20, and on the west by Lot 8,
Block 20, as a plat of Renns Addition
appears of record in Plat Book 21 at
Page 2, Cole County Recorder's Office."
Section 2 . The statutory right of reversion in the
owners of the property abutting on the area vacated above,
as provided by the laws of Missouri, is hereby expressly
confirmed, and the Mayor and the Clerk of the city are
hereby authorized and directed to execute in writing all
instruments necessary or required to confirm in the abutting
property owners their reversionary rights in the land
described above and hereby vacated.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval .
