jAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING
SUBSECTION 2 OF SECTION 1 .530 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 7344 OF
THE CITY PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES DURING
CERTAIN HOURS ON NAMED STREETS IN THE CITY, AND ENACTING AN
i ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT THAT PRESCRIBES A
PRESUMPTION THAT ANY VEHICLE, PARKED IN VIOLATION OF THE
ORDINANCE, WAS PARKED BY THE OWNER THEREOF AND PROVIDES A
PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCEL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MI,SSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Subsection 2 of Section 1.530 of
Ordinance Number 7344 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
prohibiting the parking of motor vehicles during certain
hours on named streets in the city be, and the same is hereby,
repealed.
Section 2, Parking vehicles prohibited. The
i operator of a vehicle shall not park the same at any place
within the described limits on the following-named roadways,
or any designated position thereof, at any time between the
hours of 3:00 o'clock A.M. and 5:00 o'clock A.M. :
(5 ) On the west side of Adams Street between
Capitol Avenue and High Street.
(10 ) On the east side of Adams Street between
Capitol Avenue and McCarty Street.
(15 ) On Capitol Avenue between Adams Street
' and a point 220 feet west of the west curb
of Jefferson Street .
(20 ) On High Street between Washington Street
and Adams Street .
(25) On Madison Street between State Street and
McCarty Street.
(30) On Monroe Street between Capitol Avenue and
McCarty Street.
Section 3. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution

for a violation of any of the provisions of Section 2 of this
Ordinance, proof that the vehicle described in the complaint
was parked in violation of a provision of Section 2, together
with proof that the defendant named in the complaint was at
the time of such parking the owner of the vehicle, shall
constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the

owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the vehicle
at the point where, and for the time during which, such
violation occurred.
Section 4. Penalty. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not
more than $100 .00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more
than 90 days, or be punished both by such fine and imprisonment,
Section 5. Effective date. This ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and after its passage and
approval.
