AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , REPEALING
SUBSECTION (480) OF SEXTION 1 .530 OF ORDINANCE NO. 73440
REGULATING THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON MONROE STREET,
AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT,
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Subsection 480 of Section 1 .530 of
Ordinance Number 7344 of this City, regulating the parking
of motor vehicles on Monroe Street, be, and the same is hereby,
repealed. j

Section 2. Parking vehicle prohibited. The operator
of a vehicle shall not park the same at any place on the
east half of Monroe Street between points located 200 feet
north and 230 feet south of the centerline of the Whitton
Expressway.
Section 3. Presumption to a2plX. In any prosecution
for a violation of dection 2, proof that the vehicle described
in the complaint was parked in violation of Section 2, together
with proof that the defendant named in the complaint was at
the time of such parking the owner of the vehicle, shall
constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the
owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the vehicle at
the point where, and for the time during which, such violation
occurred.
Section 4. Penalty. Any person violating any of
the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined
not more than $100 .00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more
than 90 days, or be punished both by such fine and imprisonment.
Section 5 . This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
