AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING
THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY,
PROVIDING A PRESUMPTION THAT ANY VEHICLE PARKED IN VIOLATION
OF THE ORDINANCE WAS PARKED BY THE OWNER THEREOF, AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 . Parking vehicles prohibited. The operator
of a vehicle shall not park the same at any point on the
south half of High Street located between the east curb of
Broadway and a point 200 feet east of the east curb of
Broadway at any time between the hours of 7 :30 A.M. and
8 : 30 A.M. or 4: 30 P.M. and 5 : 30 P.M. on any day of the week
except Saturday, Sunday or any legal holiday.
Section 2. Presumption to a2pl In any prosecution
for a violation o any provision of Section 1, proof that
the vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation
of any provision of Section 1, together with proof that the
defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such
parking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence
a prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was
the person who parked the vehicle at the point where, and
for the time during which, such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. A person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not
more than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more than
90 days, or be punished both by such fine and imprisonment.
