AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 5880, THE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY
REPEALING SECTION 2401 OF ARTICLE XXIV, PRESCRIBING THE
METHOD FOR CHANGING OR AMENDING THE BOUNDARIES, REGULATIONS
OR RESTRICTIONS OF DISTRICTS AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 2401
OF ARTICLE XXIV RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2401 of Article XXIV of Ordinance
Number 5880, the Zoning Ordinance, prescribing the method
for changing or amending the boundaries, regulations or
restrictions of zoning districts, be, and the same is
hereby, repealed.
Section 2. There is hereby enacted a new section to be
known as Section 2401 of Article XXIV of Ordinance Number
5880 relating to the procedure to be followed to change or
amend the boundaries, regulations and restrictions of
zoning districts which shall read in words and figures
as follows :

ARTICLE XXIV
CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS
® Section 2401 . The City Council may from
time to time, on its own motion or on petition,
amend, supplement, change, modify or repeal by
ordinance the boundaries of districts or regulations,
or restrictions herein established. Any proposed
amendment, supplement, change, modification or
repeal shall first be submitted to the City Planning
and Zoning Commission for its recommendations and
report. If the City Planning and Zoning Commission
makes no report within forty-five (45) days, it
shall be considered to have made a report approving
the proposed amendment, supplement, modification
or change . After the recommendations and report
of the City Planning and Zoning Commission have
been filed, the City Council shall, before enacting
any proposed amendment, supplement, change, modi-
fication of repeal, hold a public hearing in
relation thereto, giving at least fifteen (15)
days notice of the time and place of such hearing,
which notice shall first be published in a news-
paper within and for the City of Jefferson having
a general circulation therein. "

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
