ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI REPEALING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 7556 OF THE CITY AND ENACTING A NEW
ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE
ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY, PROVIDING A PRESUMPTION THAT ANY VEHICLE
PARKED IN VIOLATION OF THE ORDINANCE WAS PARKED BY THE OWNER
THEREOF, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Parking vehicles prohibited. The operator
of a vehicle shall not park the same at any point, on the
south shoulder of McCarty Street between Benton Street and
Gordon Street.
® Section 2. Presumption to a pply. In any prosecution
for a violation of Section 1, proof that the vehicle described
in the complaint was parked in violation of Section 1, together
with proof that the defendant named in the complaint was, at
the time of such parking, the owner of the vehicle, shall
constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the
owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the vehicle
at the point where, and for the time during which, such
violation occurred.
Section 3. Pena�lt . A person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined
not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more
than 90 days, or be punished both by such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. Ordinance Number 7556 of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, is hereby repealed.
Section 5 . This ordinance shall take effect and be
