AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , REPEALING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 7533 OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , •
REGULATING THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON JEFFERSON
STREET, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME
SUBJECT AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Repeal.Ordinance Number 7533 of the City of .
Jefferson, Missouri, regulating the parking of motor vehicles
on Jefferson Street be , and the same is hereby, repealed.
Section 2. Parking vehicles prohibited. The operator of
® a vehicle shall not parke-the same at any place within the
limits described on the following named roadways:
(a) On the west half of Jefferson Street
between a point located 208 feet south
of the south curb of Miller Street and
200 feet south of the centerline of the
Rex M. Whitton Expressway.
(b) On the east half of Jefferson S tre @.t south,
and within 200 feet, of the centerline of
the Rex M. Whitton Expressway.
Section 3. Presumption to Apply. And for any prosecution
for a violation of any of the previous provisions of this
ordinance, proof that the vehicle described in the complaint
was parked in violation of any provision of Section 2 hereof,
together with proof that the defendant named in the complaint
was at the time of the parking of the vehicle the owner thereof,
shall constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the
owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the same at the
point where, and for the time during which, such violation
occurred.
Section 4. Penalty. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined
not flior.e than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for not
longer than ninety (90) days, or be punished by both such
fine and imprisonment.
Section 5. Effective Date.This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval .
