AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFRRSON, MISSOURI , REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON BOLIVAR STREET WITHIN THE CITY,
PROVIDING FOR A PRESUMPTION AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking vehicle prohibited. The operator of
a vehicle shall not park the same at any place on the east
half of Bolivar Street that is north, and within thirty (30)
feet of the north curb of West Elm Street.
® Section 2. Angle Parking Required. It shall be unlawful
for the operator of a motor vehicle to permit the same to be
parked at any place on the east half of Bolivar Street that
lies between two points located thirty (30) feet and two
Hundred and ten (210) feet north of the north curb of West
Elm Street unless the vehicle is parked in such a manner
that the right side of the vehicle forms an angle of thirty
(30°) degrees with the east curb of Bolivar Street with the
front wheels of the vehicle touching the curb.
Section 3 . Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for
a violation of Section 1 or Section 2 of this ordinance, proof
that the vehicle described in the complaint was parked in
violation of the provisions of either Section 1 or Section 2,
or both, together with proof that the defendant named in the
complaint was at the time of the parking the owner of the
vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption
that the owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the
vehicle at the point where, and for the time during which,
such violation occurred.
Section 4. Penalty. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined
not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for not
longer than ninety (90) days, or be punished by both such
fine and imprisonment.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval .
