ORDINANCE NO. '/6.a
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MLSSO= REGULATING
THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES WITHIN THE CITY, PROVIDING
A PRESUMPTION AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,

Section 1 . ` —Hour Parking Zone . The operator of a
vehicle shall not park the same for a period of time in
excess of one hour between 7 : 00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. on any
day except Sunday or a legal holiday, at any point on the
south half of McCarty Street between Bolivar Street and
Clay Street.
Section 2 . Presumption to Capp 1 In any prosecution
for a violation of any provision of ection 1, proof that
the vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation
of any provision of Section 1, together with proof that the
defendant named in the complaint was at the time of such
parking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence
a prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was
the person who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for
the time during which, such violation occurred.
Section 3 . Penalty. A person violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not
more than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more than
90 days, or be punished both by such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective date. This ordinance shall
take of -ems ct and be in force from and after its passage
and approval.
