AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 7494 OF THE CITY GRANTING FRED THOMPSON AN EXCLUSIVE FRANCHISE TO PROVIDE LIMOUSINE SERVICE AT THE JEFFERSON CITY MEMORIAL AIRPORT. WHEREAS, under the terms of Ordinance Number 7494 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, passed by the City Council on March 2, 1964 and approved by the Mayor of said city on March 3, 1964, Fred Thompson was given an exclusive franchise for the airport limousine service at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport for a term of ten years, commencing March 1, 1964 and terminating February 28, 1974, and WHEREAS, under the terms of Section 1 (c) of said ordinance, Fred Thompson was required to meet, or cause to be met, each commercially scheduled airplane landing daily at the airport with a mechanically safe and clean appearing motor vehicle, and WHEREAS, on various and frequent occasions Fred Thompson has failed to meet, or cause to have been met, various scheduled arrival and departure flights of Ozark Airlines, Inc. at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport with a motor vehicle as required by Section 1 (c) of Ordinance Number 7494 and WHEREAS, it is essential and in the public interest of the City of Jefferson, Missouri that reliable and efficient airport limousine service be provided to and from the Jefferson City Memorial Airport as a convenience to air travellers, now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ordinance Number 7494 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, granting Fred Thompson an exclusive franchise to provide limousine service at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport be, and the same is hereby, repealed. Section 2. The franchise awarded by Ordinance Number 7494 of the city shall be cancelled and deemed terminated upon the passage and approval of this ordinance. Section 3. CjAy Clerk r ��� Strike paragraph (c) of Section 1 and insert, in lieu thereof, the following: (c) Each commercially scheduled airplane landing at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport shall be met '1 by .a skilled, sober, reliable,and courteous driver, who shall be clean shaven and cleanly clothed in suitable attire, with a mechanically safe and clean motor vehicle suitable for the transportation of the passengers, their baggage and personal effects from the airport to the city.
