Dear Mr. Adams: This letter is in response to your request, dated January 14, 2015 on behalf of SEABAR to sponsor Mardi Gras 2015 in the roundabout at the eastern terminus of 16th Street on Tybee Island, Georgia. Mardi Gras 2015 is scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2015. The temporary project will begin Friday, February 13, 2015 and be completed Sunday, February 15, 2015. As proposed, your request includes the placement of five (5) 10' x 10' vendor tents, as well as the temporary placement of one (1) 16' x 30' entertainment stage and associated equipment including, one (1) 7' x 12' generator, all of which will be located on the paved parking lot and sidewalk in this area as depicted in the attached plans. Additionally, the request includes the closure of the 16'h Street public crossover to the general public on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 2pm to I I pin for security purposes. The tents and stage will be set up Friday, February 13, 2015 and removed no later than Sunday, February 15, 2015. All activities proposed in association with Mardi Gras 2015 will occur within the confines of the paved parking area, landward of the sand dunes. No impacts to the sand sharing system are proposed and access to the beach is available to the public at existing crossovers along the strand. The Department authorizes the temporary installation of the proposed amenities as depicted in the attached location map provided all Best Management Practices (BMPs) will be used to prevent any additional impacts at the site and to protect jurisdictional shore areas. This Letter of Permission is not meant to exempt the above referenced activity from future environmental laws. No unauthorized equipment, materials or debris may be placed, disposed of, or stored in jurisdictional areas. The sarne as last year we will have a parade and street dance along Tybrisa and the Round-about. Parade time is 2prn on Saturday February 1.4"', the route will begin at Memorial Park and follow Butler Avenue to Tybrisa to the Round-about. The street dance will begin at Saturday at noon with live bands from 12:30pni to 6pin. Tybrisa street will be closed during this bane. We look forward to bringing this festival alive again in 2015, as each year Tybee Mardi Gras has proven to bring so many visitors to our community during the off -season.
