ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 5880 OF THE CITY, KNOWN AS THE ZONING
ORDINANCE, BY ADDING SECTION 1805 .5 TO ARTICLE XVIII THEREOF
REGULATING PROJECTIONS OF BUILDING OVER PUBLIC WAYS.
WHEREAS, by its Report of April 12, 1965, the Planning
and Zoning Commission, on the recommendation of the Building
Commissioner, recommended that the Zoning Ordinance of the
city be amended to include the provision hereinafter identified
as Section 1805 .5 of Article XVIII of Ordinance Number 5880,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson,
through its clerk, has caused a notice of a hearing for the
consideration of the recommendation to be published in a
newspaper of general circulation within the city, the last
date of publication of the notice being more than 15 days prior
to the date of the hearing, by which all persons were invited
to appear at the time and place mentioned in the notice of
hearing and be heard on the recommendation of the Commission,
and
WHEREAS, the Council conducted on the 17th day of May,
® 19651 the hearing specified in the notice and heard all views
expressed by persons present, now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance Number 5880 of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, known as the Zoning Ordinance be, and the same is
hereby, amended by adding in Article XVIII thereof the
following additional paragraph, identified as 1805.5 :
"1805.5 . No building shall be so
constructed that any part thereof
projects over a public street line,
or alley line, except for the ordinary
projection of sills, belt courses, cornices,
S and ornamental features projecting not to
exceed twelve (12) inches."
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval .
