A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA; REQUESTING
THAT THE MIAMI-DADE SCHOOL BOARD CONSTRUCT
A METAL PICKET FENCE AROUND THE PERIMETER OF
THE COMMUNITY SCHOOL; THAT THE METAL PICKET
FENCE BE SETBACK FIVE (5) FT. FROM THE CURRENT
LOCATION OF THE CHAIN LINK FENCE AT GLENRIDGE
ROAD AND W. ENID DRIVE; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County School Board will be constructing an addition to the
Key Biscayne Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, the construction bid documents are written in a manner that only provides funds
to construct the metal picket fence if there are sufficient savings from other portions of the
construction budget; and
WHEREAS, to insure that the metal picket fence is constructed it is necessary to provide
funding in the base construction budget; and
WHEREAS, to provide space for the Village to construct paved parking on W. Enid Drive
and Glenridge Road it is necessary to set the new fence back approximately five (5) ft. from its
current location.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Miami -Dade County is requested to proceed with the construction
of the new addition to the Community School subject to the placement of a metal picket fence
around the school as part of the base construction contract.
ection 2. That the metal picket fence along W. Enid Drive and Glenridge Road shall
be set back five (5) ft. from its current location which will permit the Village to construct paved
parking adjacent to the field.
Section 3. That the Village Manager and Village Attorney are hereby directed to
implement this Resolution.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
