REQUIREMENTS FOR TREE REMOVAL
• A density of 3 trees per 4,500 square feet is required. All trees with a 6 inch diameter at 4.5 feet above the ground
count toward the density.
• Significant trees must be replaced inch-for-inch in like species with minimum 2-inch diameter trees or be otherwise
mitigated.
• By accepting the Tree Removal Permit, the property owner and the applicant agree to comply with all requirements
of the tree ordinance including mitigation requirements, planting specifications and tree survival requirements.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Scaled plot plan showing location, size and species of all trees on the lot which have a diameter of 6 inches or
more at 4.5 feet above ground, all existing improvements, all proposed improvements, and property setbacks.
Mark all trees proposed for removal.
Mark the planting location, size and species for all proposed replacement trees.
Explain the species of tree(s), the reason for removal, and the location of the tree(s)

Sec. 7-090. Penalties for unlawful tree removal.
Violation of this article shall b*subject to the following fines and ramtiictiono�
(A) Any person who vim|oige any provision of this article or fails to comply with any notice issued pursuant to the
provisions of this ertio[e, upon being found guilty of nioKation, shall be aubie�� to a fine not to exceed $1,000.00
for each un|av�u||y�emnnvedtree,

(B) In addition to the penalties imposed, in subsection AA h*reiin obove, the party or parties found No be in violation
of this article shall be required to plant or, replace trees, pursuant to the requirements . The
regmiromorte of this subsection are mandatory, and shall apply regardless of any other penalties imposed for
violations of this article.
(C) Where violation of this article in associated with oonstruction, pursuant to a ohx building permit, a certificate of
occupancy may not be issued until such violation, has been remedied and trees are planted or replaced,
pursuant to the requirements . as necessary to meet the requirements of this article. The
requirements of this subsection are mandstmry, and shall apply regardless of any other penalties imposed for
violation of this article.

The undersigned hereby acknowledges that the issuance of this permit does not'in any way grant permission
to the owner, owner's representative, or permit holder to proceed with demolition, wrecking, or renovation of a
structure prior to the fil�ng of any required ten (10) day "Project Notification for Asbestos Renovation
Encapsulation or Demolition" form in accordance with the Georgia Asbestos Rules. The Georgia
Environmental Protection Division administers the rules. In most cases, the rules require both the owner and
the involved contractors to assure the portion of the building involved in the project is thoroughly inspected by
an Accredited Asbestos Inspector for materials that contain asbestos; and the removal of the asbestos before
renovation, wrecking, or demolition begins almost without exemption, Georgia EPID requires a completed
demolition notification from be submitted 10 workings days in advance even if no asbestos is present in the
building. Further guidance for regulatory compliance and contact telephone numbers are provided by the
brochures entitled Asbestos & Renovation and Asbestos and Demolition. Other environmental issues such
as asbestos removal techniques, lead abatement, ground oomtarninetioni, or unusual site conditions may have

SHOWN ON THE PLANS. THIS DOES NOT RELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR FROM HIS RESPONSIBIUTY
PROTECT EXISTING UNDERGROUND FACILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAININ,
A VAUD UTILITY LOCATE TICKET FROM THE GEORGIA UTILITIES PROTECTION CENTER (811), AND
COORDINATION WITH OTHER SUCH LOCAL UTIUTIES AS MAY BE REQUIRED.
B. THE CONTRACTOR WILL PROTECT ALL TREES NOTED TO REMAIN WITHIN AND ADJACENT TO

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO REESTABLISH TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE
ENGINEER.
7. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FURNISHING ALL BORROW MATERIAL NECESSARY l=OF
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT. ALL BORROW MATERIAL SHALL BE CLEAN AND FREE OF
DEBRIS AND ORGANIC MATERIAL AND SUFFICIENT TO COMPACT TO A MINIMUM BARRING CAPACIT
OF 2,50OPSF OR AS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.
S. ALL ITEMS CLEARED OR DEMOLISHED FROM THE SITE ARE THE PROPERTY OF THE
CONTRACTOR UNLESS THEY ARE TO BE REUSED ON THE SITE OR OTHERWISE NOTED. NO
BURYING OR BURNING OF DEBRIS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THIS SITE.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MAINTAINING BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICE!
(BMP'S) ON THE SITE AT ALL TIMES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND THE "MANUAL FO
EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL OF GEORGIA".
