AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING
THE OFFICE OF HOUSING INSPECTOR, PRESCRIBING THE METHOD OF
APPOINTMENT, QUALIFICATIONS, TERM AND DUTIES OF THE OFFICE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Housing Inspector. The office of Housing Inspector of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby established.
Section 2. Appointment and term. The housing inspector shall be
appointed by the Mayor with the consent of a majority of the elected
member of the city council. He shall hold his office at the pleasure of
the mayor or until removed by the city council in accordance with the
ordinances of the city.
Section 3. Qualifications. The Housing Inspector shall be a resident
of the city, at least twenty one years of age, and of sober, reliable and
industrious character, and he shall be physically able to perform the
duties of the office.
Section 4. Duties. The Housing Inspector shall assist the Building
Commissioner in the administration and enforcement of the Housing
Code of the city and perform such other duties as may be ordered by the
Mayor or the Building Commissioner.
Section 5. Effective date. From and after its: passage and approval,
this ordinance shall take effect and be in force as of the day of
1965.
