ORDINANCE NO.AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY, PRESCRIB-
ING A PRESUMPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Reserved Parking. The operator of a vehicle shall not
park the same at any place on the south half of Main Street located between
two points lying /41op feet and aas feet east of the east
curb of Bolivar Street; provided that the operator of a vehicle may park the
® same within the area described above for a period of time not in excess of
five minutes for the purpose of obtaining information from the Chamber of
Commerce Tourist Information Booth.
Section 2. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a violation
of this ordinance, proof that the vehicle described in the complaint was
parked in such violation, together with proof that the defendent named in
the complaint was at the time of the parking the owner of the vehicle, shall
constitute a prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the
person who parked the vehicle in violation of this ordinance.
® Section 3 . Penalty. Any person violating this ordinance shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more
than $100. 00 or be imprisoned not longer than 90 days or be punished by both
such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
