AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADWAY OF
TAYLOR STREET, FROM THE END OF THE EXISTING CONCRETE PAVEMENT
AT WATER STREET, NORTHERLY TO THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE
!I OF HOUGH STREET IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY PAVING
WITH PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE. i

i! BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
fI AS FOLLOWS:
I� SECTION 1. Whereas, it was heretofore found and declared
�I
i; by the City Council, by its resolution, passed and approved an `
i' July 19, 1965, necessary to pave with Portland Cement concrete
the roadway of Taylor Street, from the end of the existing concret
pavement at Water Street, northerly to the southerly right-of-way
I
! line of Hough Street, and it appearing to the City Council that
said resolution has been duly published according to the law for
r more than seven (7) consecutive insertions, in the Post Tribune,
a daily newspaper, printed and published in the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, and a majority of the resident owners of property along
li said section of Taylor Street, liable for the costs of said
IIimprovement, and who own a majority of the front feet on said
l� Taylor Street intended to be improved, have not filed with the
City Clerk a protest against said contemplated improvement.
! SECTION 2 . That the said road of Taylor Street, from the end
i
of the existing concrete pavement at Water Street, northerly to
!� the southerly right-of-way line of Hough Street, in accordance
�I
I� with the plans and specifications submitted by the City Engineer-
; Director of Public Works and filed in the office of the City
!i Clerk, and that the total cost of the work aforesaid shall be
charged and levied as a special assessment against the real
estate abutting and fronting on said contemplated improvement,
and special tax bills shall be issued therefor, as provided in
the City Charter, and in Sections 826, 827, 828, 829 and 767 of
}� Chapter 10 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, '
! Missouri, 1956, and of the Revised Statutes of the State of
ii Missouri, 1949, and amendments thereto.

SECTION 3. The City Engineer-Director of Public Works is
hereby instructed to advertise for bids for this improvement.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
