AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI CREATING THE '
!POSITION OF SPECIAL DEPUTY CITY CLERKS, PROVIDING THE NUMBER
1THEREOF, THE METHOD OF THEIR APPOINTMENT, THEIR OATH,
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPENSATION AND DUTIES.
11BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
iIXISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS.

Section 1. The position of special deputy city clerks is hereby created
('and established.
i� Section 2. special deputy city clerks shall be appointed by the
`Mayor.
! Section 3. The special deputy city clerks shall take the same oath of
office prescribed by ordinance for the city clerk, and such oath shall be
administered by the Police Judge of the city.

i Section 4. Each of the special deputy city clerks shall be a resident of
1 he city, of the age of twenty-one ears or more, and entitled to vote at the

Y Y ctober Y 5, 1965, special municipal election to be held in the city.
�i Section 5. Each of the special deputy city clerks shall serve
1without salary or compensation.
if Section 6. The special deputy city clerks shall perform the following
(duties:
(A) To receive applications for absentee ballots to be voted
in the special municipal election in the City of Jefferson,
I, Missouri, on October 5, 1965.
ii (B) To deliver said applications to the City Clerk of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, so that the names of the applicants
�+ may be posted as is prescribed by law.

(C) To receive the official absentee ballots and envelopes and
® all instructions required by law from the City Clerk and to I
deliver the same in person to the applicant therefor for
i execution by the applicant in the manner provided by law.
i
(D) Upon proper execution of the absentee ballot as required
by law, to render such assistance as may be requested
by the absentee voter in mailing said absentee ballot to
the City Clerk.
Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after I
fits passage and approval.
