INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN: STTM ORDINANCE N0. 2 '7 0,91 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS AND PAPERS OF THE CITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Destruction of Records and Papers. The City Marshal, in the presence of a majority of the elected members of the City Council, is hereby authorized to destroy, by burning, after a period of ten years from the date thereof, or the date of filing thereof, the following records and papers of the City: Assessment lists; merchants' and manufacturers' statements; poll books and other returns of elections; cancelled city warrants; cancelled city checks; personal, real, merchants' and manufacturers' tax books; reports and receipts of the city collector; bills and invoices paid by the city, and all other records and papers of the city kept by or under the direction of any elective official or department head of the city when an elective official or department head requests the destruction of such records and papers and a majority of the elected members of the city council approves the request.
