AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING
A LOADING ZONE IN THE CITY, REGULATING THE PARKING OF MOTOR
VEHICLES THERELN, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Loading Zone. The operator of a vehicle shall
not park the same on the north half of McCarty Street at any
place between two points located 133 feet and 158 feet east
of the east curb of Lafayette Street, except to load or unload
food, or other goods, wares and merchandise at the Frozen Food
Locker.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for
a violation of Section 1 of this ordinance, proof that the
vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation of
Section 1, together .with proof that the defendant named in the
complaint was at the time of the parking the owner of the
vehicle, shall then constitute in evidence a prima facie
presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who
parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time during
which, such violation occurred.
® Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating the provisions o
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $100.00 or be
imprisoned not longer than 90 days, or be punished by both
such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effec
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
